Day 6 - St Petetsburg

Started early this morning to get to the Hermitage before it opened. (A few of the cruise lines get to enter at 9 instead of 10:30.)
So much artwork. Sort of like touring the Louvre. Catherine the 2nd collected art and over the years the Winter Palace was turned into a gallery starting with the small Hermatige building in 1764.

In the afternoon we took a canal cruise to see the beautiful buildings from another perspective. The arcitecture her is amazing. Especially the onion shaped domes (made that way for the snow) which are either gold or very colorful

The evening on the ship was a Russian festival with food (borscht and stroganoff)

Later we say another show with a beach boy theme.

Large throne room. Cath wasn't allowed to sit there today!
Built to look like the Vatican

A bit colder than this morning
